ANCOR participated in the conference «Risk Management for the Energy Sector of Russia and CIS Countries» that was held in Prague

On October 21, 2011 Sergey Gadetsky, Director for ANCOR Holding, Russia, made a presentation at the training conference «Risk Management for the Energy Sector of Russia and CIS Countries», which was organized by Marcus Evans company. The event was held in Prague on October 19-21.

The conference brought together representatives of national and international companies operating in the fuel and energy sector, namely Council of Power Producers of Russia; RusRisk; TNK-BP; Gazprom Neft; RusHydro; NOVATEK; DTEK; Itera; Irkutskenergo; INTER RAO UES; KazMunaiGaz-Refining and Marketing; Energy Development Fund of Russia; Russian Energy Agency; Gazprom Export; Energostroyinvest-Holding; Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences; Statoil, Norway.

The conference was presided over by Sergey Pikin, Director of the Energy Development Fund of Russia, and Victor Vereschagin, President of RusRisk company.

The theme for the conference was the discussion of the risk management issues for the energy sector of Russia and CIS countries. Speakers at the event analyzed the current situation of the fuel and energy complex and focused on potential risks that may emerge in the energy sector at present.

Director for ANCOR Holding, Russia, Sergey Gadetsky, made a presentation in the section «Human Factor in Risk Management». The main topic of his presentation was «Business Process Improvement Through Better HR Management Practice». In his presentation Sergey Gadetsky brought up the following issues: risk management in HR management policy, human factor as one of the major reasons for accidents and injuries in the energy sector; comprehensive HR management systems as one of the major risk management factor in the energy sector.

Sergey noted that employees’ professional development and motivation improvement result in reduction of risk situations which occur throughout production process. Special attention was paid to problems of shifting from personnel recruiting to career management within a company; the issue of changing approach to personnel motivation and working conditions improvement was brought up.

The theme that was brought up by Sergey Gadetsky provoked heated debate among the participants of the event, and according to the opinion of the conference delegates the presentation made by the ANCOR expert was considered to be one of the best presentations.

Latest trends in risk management were presented at the conference, participants specified new risk assessment methods, analyzed responsibilities of risk management directors, and considered different methods which are used to improve operational performance in order to increase efficiency of KPI management in the energy industry.
